After a 9-year hiatus, Botev (Plovdiv) returned to its renovated Hristo Botev stadium, whose inauguration was marked by the derby between “the canaries” and Levski. TV1 was responsible for the satellite transmission with one of its DSNG OB Vans.
The match turned into a celebration for 18,000 people and the “yellow-black” crowd created an extraordinary atmosphere. It was filled with constant pyrotechnics, fireworks and chants from the stands, brought about by the joy of having Botev back home after 3425 days. On the pitch, Levski won 1-0, but there were no angry people in the stands as the Botev fans enjoyed a real celebration.
